Books! Books!

Today I got…well…half of the rest of my North American author copies of HIS VIRGIN ACQUISITION! You know what that means? I’m giving away a book!

It’s been nine months since I got The Call and it’s been quite a nine months! I’ve sold a total of four books and am working on the fifth now.

Don’t forget, UK friends….A Mistake, A Prince and A Pregnancy will be on Mills and Boon UK Sept 1st! And North American friends…His Virgin Acquisition will be on eharlequin Sept 1st!

In His Virgin Acquisition, Elaine is willing to do what it takes to achieve her goals…even if that means marrying Marco De Luca, notorious womanizer and gorgeous Italan billionaire. Of course, Elaine is all business, and their marriage will only be a convenient one…for a while. 😉

I always LOVE a marriage of convenience story. Something about a married couple falling in love is very appealing to me.

What are some of your favorite romance themes?

Leave a comment to be enter to win a copy of His Virgin Acquisition! (I will have the hunksband draw names later!)

  1. Can’t wait to read this book, Maisey.

  2. I almost always like MOC, Mail Order, May/December, and Damaged Heroes.

  3. Some of my favorite romance themes are marriage of conveniece, friends to lovers, love at first sight, military, secret baby/child.

I can’t wait to read Marco and Elaine’s story,so I can see what you did with the marriage of conveniece theme.

  4. Ok, first of all Maisey, I love that you call Haven your “Hunksband,” that’s too cute! 😉 I wish I could tell you what my fav romance theme is, but to be honest I’ve never read a romance novel, ever. Ok, you can get up off the floor now, lol. 😉
I’d love to read yours though, I’m so excited for you and this chapter of your life! 🙂
    Sarah

  5. Thank you Rebecca!

Keira, Oh, I love damaged heroes. And I’ve written my share. There’s nothing more romantic, to me, than the heroine being a part of that healing process (either physically or emotionally) *sigh*

Amanda, friends to lovers is one of my all time favorites. Unfortunately, tricky to pull off with Presents! But my favorite friends to lovers is Anything For You, it’s a Blaze by Sarah Mayberry. You should check it out!

Sarah, lovely to see you here! You know, I’m not so shocked. 🙂 I hadn’t read a romance novel until…I think it’s been three years now. I was pregnant with Kian, had a one year old and was sick and tired. So during Aidric’s naps…I read romance novels. And of course, Haven is a hunk!

  6. Hi, Maisey! So happy for you! New babe and all this success too! You must be over the moon with joy. Would love to read your book. Take care and happy writing!

  7. I do love a good marriage of convenience, as well as brother’s best friend and beauty and the beast. 😀 Thanks so much for the chance to win!

  8. Yep, i’m one of the only 50 yr old females on the planet that hasnt read a romance novel before. So i in a sense have saved myself for yours! Cant wait to read adn am so happy for you , Maisey!

  9. Lorraine, I am and it’s true! The baby girl is eight months old now! So big! (hard to look forward to book releases when I knew she would be eight months old when it came out and I wanted her to stay tiny!)

Julie, yes yes and yes. All SO good. Brother’s best friend is a fave of mine. Love it when the hero is torn between protecting and seducing… *wiggles eyebrows*

Barbara, my mom hadn’t read one until I forced one on her about three years ago. I told her mine couldn’t be the first one she read!

  10. Yay for author copies! And well, you know my favourite theme…friends to lovers….mmmmm….sexy….;-)

  11. How exciting!

Hmmm…one of my favorite themes is possibly the makeover story. You know, the unveiling of a newly gorgeous old buddy.

  12. loved what I read so far… and I am not a romance reader!! Love your writing style – it’s humorous without being cheesy. My favorite part is the dedication to your husband, I feel the same about mine. I’m looking forward to the rest of the book!!

  13. I can’t wait to read His Virgin Acquisition!

  14. I am a sucker for romance in any form, but I really like the instant dislike but have to work together to resolve some sort of struggle/intrigue best.

I can’t wait to read all of your books! I plan on buying the paper and the electronic versions to support you as much as I can! 🙂

  15. Maisey, I love reunion stories!
Past history quietly simmering under the surface, add a new situation, throw in the H&H and watch the sparks and sizzle as they get to know each other all over again-and stay together. Ahhhh, very satisfying.
Congratulations on so many books, you’re amazing!!! ms

  16. Kristi! Yes, I am a big fan…big big fan. Anything For You has that little makeover thing…love that book.

Kelly, thank you! I like humor. Life is funny…love can be funny.

    Nas, thanks!

Kristie, LOL! Now that’s support! I have such good family. 🙂

Margie, I like reunion stories too…come to think off it, there are very few themes in romance I don’t like! And thank you, I’m not sure about amazing but…I’ll take it! LOL.

  17. I can’t wait to read His Virgin Acquisition, Maisey! It’ll be my first Presents ever. ;D

  18. Cari! I’m shocked!! *vapors* Well, however you end up getting it, I really hope you enjoy it! (lots of first timers here…talk about pressure!)

  19. Hey Maisey,
Your story has been my inspiration, and it was so great for us over at subcare to watch your star just explode like that! SO COOL! Congrats on all of your well deserved success!

  20. Hi Maisey, I hope I’m not too late, I just caught your tweet. I love reunited lovers – I enjoy reading a couple that has a history together.

  21. well I had a crush on the hubby when I was a teen and he didnt even notice me till i made him notice about 6 years later (he’s a professor so very dotty). So get what my favourite theme is?

  22. Christine (familiar face!) You’re too sweet. If I can inspire people to go for it then I feel really good about that!

Melinda, not too late! Yes, reunited lovers is really a sweet one.

Joanna, heh, sounds familiar! I’m nearly eight years younger than the hubby, met him when I was twelve. He didn’t notice me at all (naturally) but I snagged him when I turned eighteen!

  23. I love the stories with a rough start and a romantic end…sigh…

    Please count me in!

  24. I think both of my favorites have already been mentioned. Brother’s best friend and friends to lovers. I have written both, hehe.

  25. Oooo. I’d like to put my name in for a copy of ‘His Virgin Acquisition’ if it’s not too late! Thankee!

  26. Friends first, esp if the heroine has an unrequited crush on the hero. Then, he realizes he loved her the whole time *sigh* (this explains why I love Mayberry & Anything For You)

Btw, have you read her SuperRomance “Her Best Friend” yet? AWESOME!

  27. Lucy, of course! That’s what makes the end SO satisfying! 🙂

Emily, you aren’t too late! 🙂

Jessica, you know I love that! And I haven’t read any of Sarah’s Supers and I really should! I saw the title of that one and nearly died. But I’m So behing on reading (and came back from RWA w/even MORE books) that I haven’t bought anything new in forever! It’s on my list though!

  28. Hi, Maisey, I want a copy too, I’ll even settle for an ebook.

    Thanks.

Best of luck to all the participants.

  29. Great post!

  30. Maisey, just popped in to say – I’m not entering the book giveaway comp because *cue drum roll* I just bought my copy from the store!!!!! So you know that His Virgin’s Acquisition has been release in Oz. I wanted to squeal when I saw it and tell everyone else to buy one too. Perfect timing because now I can use your first chapter to motivate me to perfect mine for the New Voices comp.

So now the torture begins because I can’t sit down to read your book until the kids go to bed tonight so I’m off to do housework to take my mind off it for the next few hours. I feel like I’m going on a date *giggles* and I’m sooooooo excited!

  31. Hi,
I have to say I love the synopsis of His Virgin Acquisition! There’s definitely something intriguing about the way the relationship between the two characters develops when they marry so early on. Getting to know eachother while in closer quarters than normal, always amps up the tension and the heat I think.
Another favourite for me is the May/December storyline for sure.

I’ve been reading romance novels for at least ten years now, since I was a teenager, and there’s nothing I love more than finding a new author to enjoy! So I’m very much looking forward to reading your books! =)

  32. woohoo! Joni, I didn’t realize it had been put on the shelves yet! I really hope you enjoy it!

Amanda, thank you! It’s tough to be a new author…you just hope people are willing to take a chance on you!

  33. Joanna T, your comment ended up in spam, but I found it, and I WILL enter you.

    Rhaina, thaks for stopping by!

  34. Can’t wait to read His Virgin Aquisition.
Fave thememes… love babies – even if my own drive me bonkers. And love dark and damaged heroes!!
    =)
