She’s only ever spoken to Aleksei Petrov on the phone, and when he appears in person the sparks fly. Still, Maddy knows nothing good will come of a relationship with her boss; she only needs to look to her disastrous past to know that. Yates’ smooth dialogue and clever narrative will pull readers in. These delightfully spirited, vulnerable characters will feel like friends by the story’s end.
